Here is a pattern I created for a portrait I’m working on.

I discussed with the sitter her preferred colour palette and favourite flowers and plants. One of her suggestions was red campion so I used this as the starting point. I have seen a few greenfinches in my garden and thought the contrast in colours would work beautifully. I will need to tone down the brightness of the colours so that they don’t overwhelm the portrait but I’m very pleased with the result.
